Hi Matt, tell us what you do for a living?
I manage the UK business for a European textile manufacturer.
How and why did you first get involved with RRC?
I’d signed up for the 2019 Manchester Marathon and hated training alone. Ramsbottom Running Club seemed really inclusive for a newbie. I started with the Wednesday track nights and then joined the Tuesday club night and I’ve not looked back since.
What is your favourite running memory or moment?
Tough one! For individual achievement it has to be finishing the 3 Towers Ultra last October, but my favourite RRC memory is the Amsterdam trip. A last minute decision to fly out, watch the marathon, run the half and cheer everyone in at the Olympic stadium was pretty special.
Tell us something about yourself that might surprise us...
I’ve only just turned 30 and I used to have a thick head of hair.
Who would be your 4 fantasy dinner guests (dead or alive)?
Robin Williams, Sir Alex Ferguson, Courtney Dauwalter, Seve Ballesteros
What is your pre-race routine?
Eat, toilet, stretch, toilet, panic, toilet, run.
OK onto the quick-fire round…
Tattooist of Auschwitz - only just found this recently!
Who is your running hero?
What would you choose as your Mastermind specialist subject?
Probably anything golf related from the last 20 years! 🤓
You are in lockdown and can only eat one thing for the next 21 days, what are you having?
Easy - tomato garlic bread.
