Points are awarded for each of the events in the Club Champs calendar.
Just taking part?
Take part in 9 of the 22 events to earn a special RRC Club Champs memento! The male and female members who complete the most number of races will also claim the Club Competitor trophy!
Eyes on a prize?
Points will be awarded for the fastest RRC runners at each event. 1 point for the fastest, 2 for second place, 3 for the third over the line and so on. The scores from your best nine events of the year will be totalled and the winner is the person with the lowest overall score.
One of our more experienced runners?
There's also an age graded championships, so don't worry about having to compete toe-to-toe with the young whippets!
Injured and can't run?
Come along with your cowbell to be part of the famous, epic RRC finish line funnel of noise!
Saturday 22 January 2022
We kick off 2022 at Haigh Hall, taking in the woodland paths of Haigh Hall
Country Park. Billed as challenging and rewarding, be prepared for some mud on the trails in January. Don’t forget to register with parkrun in advance (with Ramsbottom Running Club as your selected Club) and print off your Barcode.
Remember, parkrun operate a strict no barcode, no time policy.

A well organised event hosted by Blackburn Road Runners, this friendly 10K starts at the Witton Park Arena in Blackburn where the Athletics track start gives way to an undulating course taking in the stunning scenery of the Pleasington area. A popular race that often fills up before race day so please enter early.

Now in its 39th year and one of the oldest surviving road races in the UK, this friendly 6 miler takes in the roads surrounding Lostock in Bolton.
A great turnout on this local race could secure us a prize for largest running club entered online.

This is a new race only on its second outing taking in the town of Littleborough and skirting Hollingworth Lake on a circular route back to the Boxing Club.

Part of the Wilmslow Running Festival the iconic Wilmslow Half Marathon takes you on a tour through beautiful countryside on a course that is renowned for producing fast times. Many people record their Personal Bests here.

Sunday 19th June, 2022
The finale of the Tour of Tameside, starting and finishing outside the historic Hyde Town Hall with a 7 mile route through Hyde Town Centre and the surrounding area.
For anybody looking for a personal endurance challenge this race is part of the full Tour of Tameside, a four day festival of running on a variety of terrains. The original week long tour was founded by marathon legend Dr Ron Hill MBE in 1981.

Wednesday 29th June 2022, 7.30pm
A category AS (short) Fell Race starting at Shore Edge Methodist Church in Shaw, Oldham, climbing to the Trig Point on Crompton Moor before descending to the quarries near Buckstones Road.
With a climb of 323m on a mixture of moorland trail, forest trail and rough moorland paths the course has numerous ascents and descents before the moorland releases you into a steep shale covered descent towards the end of the first lap.

Part of the Pendle & Burnley Grand Prix, the race starts and finishes on the Padiham Greenway, accessed through Memorial Park.

Multi-terrain race on a mixture of tarmac paths and rough tracks surrounding the historic Hopwood Hall on the outskirts of Middleton.

Organised by Prestwich Athletic Club and
raising money for The Running Charity.
Teams of 4 runners; each runner completes one loop of the 1.3 mile/2 km circuit circuit before handing over the baton to the next runner in front of a cheering crowd of supporters.
The race is an adult event (15 years and over). There will be prizes for the first teams and spot prizes. Teams can be all male, female or mixed.
The route is on trails around Philips Park so trail shoes are advised.
Entry is £5 per team member for affiliated club runners - £20 a team, and £7 per team member for unaffiliated club runners - £28 a team (plus booking fees).
Saturday 3 September 2022, 1pm
Starting and finishing at Fitz Park in Keswick this race follows well marked and marshalled paths and bridleways, taking in panoramic views of Derwentwater, the surrounding peaks of Skiddaw, Blencathra and the Northern Fells.
The Trail Challenge is a race for all including less competitive runners and fitness walkers with a generous time limit of 3½ hours.
If you think you will take less than 1½ hours it is recommended you enter the Trail Race with a time limit of 2 hours and a start time of 2pm. We will use times from each event if you feel you fall into the latter category.

Following the Virtual event in 2021 the event is hoping to be back with its all new route going up Tottington Road and back down the scenic and shaded Kirklees Trail.
The 10 mile event will also be taking place on the same day, if you opt to take on the challenge of a longer distance on home turf you will be able to receive Club Competitor points but unfortunately will not receive a timed placing for the Club Champs competition.

A low key and local event raising funds for Bolton Hospice, this super friendly and inclusive 10K starts at the Vulcan Inn off Wigan Road in Bolton, heading down through wooded paths and on to the flat Middlebrook Trail.

Ewood Park is the home of Blackburn Rovers FC and the race will start and finish inside the ground.
The course heads out onto the closed roads of Blackburn for a fast 10k route that takes in Blackburn town centre before making its way on a looped route back towards Ewood Park.

We will be finishing the year on a high on this 5 mile and approximately 650ft of elevation course including plenty of woodland, bogs and laughter at this epic Christmas race with a proportion of Fancy Dress participants far greater than any other event seen locally.
There are plenty of prizes on offer at the raucous and fun presentation.
Start planning your outfit early, the competition is stiff for the coveted best fancy dress award.

Two laps run on grass tracks, paths and tarmac with far reaching views over the town of Colne and beyond.
You can try it out as many times as you like over the 11 month period, your best time will count.

A relatively new course to the parkrun family, this two lap route by the river and around a football pitch is a great flat course.
Mainly run on good paths with just a short grass section which can get muddy.

The course consists of a short out and back along the river Mersey then two anti clockwise large loops before coming into the finish near the start line. The course is run on a mixture of tarmac, gravel and hard paths. In wet weather the paths can have mud and standing water. There are some steps on the course which you go up twice.
